Inspired by the remarkable rise of Sears, this project transforms the story of the company’s mail-order catalog into a premium documentary-style motion graphics experience. The animation explores how a simple idea—bringing products directly to customers through the mail—helped create one of the most influential retail businesses in American history.

In the late 19th century, customers living in smaller towns often had limited access to a wide variety of products. Sears helped solve that problem with something remarkably simple:

A catalog.

Customers could browse hundreds of products, place an order, and have their purchases delivered directly to them. What started as a new way to reach customers eventually grew into a massive retail empire selling everything from watches and clothing to tools and even entire houses.

The project combines historical storytelling with vintage editorial design, using archival catalogs, product illustrations, newspaper advertisements, historical photography, typography, animated maps, and cinematic transitions to recreate the world of early mail-order shopping.
